For as long as I can remember, I have spent my time sorting and make sense of my surroundings. Arranging and organizing the things is something that comes naturally to me. I thought everyone was this way. No?
You would think that growing up in a household with an artistic mother, two older sisters and two younger brothers would have clued me into the fact that this was not the case, but I guess I was too busy cleaning my room and organizing my collections to notice.
For years I have said that my dream job would be to work as a librarian. I thought the idea of being able to put books back on the shelves in their proper order was just about as much fun as anyone could squeeze into a day.
Truth be told, I find that I enjoy setting up and cleaning up after the parties I have hosted far more than I have attending those parties. Call me crazy. I am sure there is a couch with my name on it in a shrink's office somewhere just waiting for me to share my story.
While I fully admit this is a strange way to be, I find that there is a need for people like me in this world.
Perhaps the need is even greater today now that the position of full time "domestic engineer" has become almost extinct due to the need for two income households. Even in households with two full time wage earners and an increasing trend toward a sharing of domestic duties, the task of running a household and organizing all that ensues remains can be challenging. As a result, we tend to pile and stack things we need to put away or leave things we need to review until some other time when we feel more like doing it. But when will that be?
And what do you do when you find there is too much stuff all around you and it's time to pare down? What do you keep? What do you part with? And what do you do with the things you keep and the things you need to let go of?
This is where people like me come in. I am that someone is proficient and enjoys sorting, organizing, and helping you decide what to reuse and decide what to trash.
Without the help of an insider, this often just gets put off for another day. Yes, Scarlet, tomorrow is another day, but that pile of stuff you have been meaning to "get to" will still be there and chances are, you will have added to it. Does this sound familiar? If so, it's time to take charge and call in the big gun. And the gun you should call in, is me.
With years of experience in home decor and organizing I can help you make sense of the clutter, organize what you have and help you find new homes for those things you are ready to part with (and in some cases turn your discards into cash).
